Starting mysql manager of pid file quit without updating failed

The socket is located at /tmp/(as shown in the file and mysqladmin version output, above). I've read thru all links given in here, I've also tried all suggestions, but the problem just doesn't seem to disappear! When I execute the php script, I get the error: Could not connect: Can't connect to local My SQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (13) I see the script is attempting to connect via the correct socket (/tmp/mysql.sock), however, the connection is failing. 1) My SQL Server is running fine 2) I'm able to connect to mysql server via 'mysql' and 'mysqladmin' 3) I'm NOT able to connect via php.Below on the code section you can see the files and the permissions of those files.

(2) & (13), I'm sure these mean something, but what could it be really?[[email protected] Z94ax97oad Z data]# /etc/init.d/mysql start Starting My SQL...The server quit without updating PID file (/db/mysql/data/i Z94ax97oad Z.pid).[FAILED] [[email protected] Z94ax97oad Z data]# /etc/init.d/mysql stop My SQL server PID file could not be found![FAILED] [[email protected] Z94ax97oad Z /]# cd /usr/local/mysql [[email protected] Z94ax97oad Z mysql]# chown -R mysql.mysql .
